background

I started learning to sail around the age of 14 in St-Ubalde de Portneuf, on the White Lake (lac Blanc), when my late father André Pronovost introduced me to dinghy sailing.

Subsequently I became interested in windsurfing and a few years later, my father acquired a 24-foot sailboat, we sailed on the Lake of Two Mountains as well as on the St. Lawrence River from Boucherville to Trois-Rivières.

Since then, I have explored the Richelieu and its locks from Lake Champlain to the St. Lawrence River up to the Repentigny marina, visited the Sorel islands, the Boucherville islands, the 1000 islands of Lake Ontario from Morrisburg, Iroquois, Brockville to Gananoque.

I also went sailing in Guadeloupe and the Bahamas.

I sailed on the waters of Lake Saint-Pierre, from Lake Saint-Louis to the Beauharnois Canal towards Lake Saint-François in Valleyfield, where I spent the summer of 1997 with my first ballasted keelboat 27 feet, CHRYSLER brand named Mustache, which I inherited from my father.

I take pleasure in teaching myself the basics of the sea, navigation remains for me a GREAT PASSION that I nourish  time to time according to the good wind.

I love taking training of all kinds, such as: navigation, radio, knots, night navigation, anchoring methods, etc...

In short, I am extremely careful when I sail, the sea has so much to teach us, to tame it you have to listen to it, observe it, respect it, take care of it, remain docile and patient.

My home port is at the Vauquelin Nautical Club, at the Neuville marina.
